A Kiwi Fan - T74

May 18 cont...

As soon as I started walking and having to concentrate again, I felt good. I had missed this and my body had become sluggish. Once I warmed up though, I felt strong and good. And more than that, I felt uncomplicated again.

I quickly fell in behind some other Henro whose paths we had crossed a number of times over the past few days and who had also stayed at the Ryokan.
We got to Temple 74 and I went on to do my thing.

I always like it when someone is reciting Hanya Shinkyo out loud because I can wait until they get toward the end and join in with them with the small amount I know. I did this today with a woman who was at the Daishi Do.

When we finished she came and asked me in fairly good English where I was from.
When I said New Zealand, she got so excited that I became conscious of the others who were trying to pray.
She had just been to New Zealand in March and loved it unnervingly and was profuse in her excitement at meeting me.
It was really heart warming and in a five minute interaction, I had made, and sadly said goodbye to, another friend. We swapped details and I hoped I might see her again.

I was aware of the others leaving so had to say goodbye.
