A Realisation - T 31 to 35

May 10 cont...

Temples
31, 32, 33, 34 and 35 became a blur.
I didn’t know it a the time but we were racing against the clock to get to Temple 36 before the stamp office closed. I had found it both entertaining and exciting as we sped along, not only on the main roads, but on the small Henro paths that were mostly for walking. Like all my other ‘guidos’, O'Sha San seemed to have an intuitive sense of where to turn even though there were not always obvious signs. I felt like I was in a movie.

At one of the Temples, I had felt the stress of hurrying, then O'Sha San slipped on a step and bent his leg back - he was a little embarrassed, so at the next Temple I said to them Stay Stay, I run! to save them getting any wetter than they were.

I sped off, said my Gya Teis by myself and was just running back to the stamp office when they both came up the steps toward me. It was then that I realized it was an adventure for them too but more than that, this was their life and work so going to a string of Temples they wouldn’t normally visit was just as much a privilege for them as for me.
Also – I admit I missed not having them with me, so when they got out at the next Temple, I was quite relieved.
