After last nights camp tucker like dinner (10 points for honest attempt and great service though), breakfast was predictable but I still managed to stuff myself!
Our taxi was waiting at 7:20. He was a very nice, patient and knowledgeable driver – and we drove! And drove and drove and drove…

Takashi San was extremely generous – even though the meter was running every second, we didn’t skimp on rituals and even stopped for lunch.
Temple 66 was stunning. As we walked down the path, we came upon a massive collection of statues that looked like an army from Lord of the Rings! I wowed for half and hour as I took photos.
As I started walking back up the drive and an older woman was trying to get something out of the garden with her walking stick. I looked down and could see a cigarette butt so I carefully leant over the plants and picked it out for her. I could see she was disgusted with this desecration of something she saw as sacred. She was very appreciative and surprised when she looked up to see a Gaijin!
