Another deceptively huge statue - Temple 71We climbed up and down mountain roads to Temples 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, stopping finally at Temple 72.
It was raining the whole time so I was yet again relieved not to be walking.
By the end, however, I was missing not walking (even though one Temple had over 500 steps up to it) so that when Takashi San wanted to go and visit a tourist attraction Temple, I said I would stay behind and walk to Temple 73 instead, so he went on in the taxi.
Our Hotel was right beside Temple 72 so I asked at reception if I could leave my bag there. The lady was another endearing, warm Mamasan. She was very honoured to have me there (Takashi San told me later) and gave me ‘best room’.
As I got directions from Mamasan, Takashi San pulled back up in the Taxi. He had changed his mind, so he dumped his bag and we walked the 3 minutes to Temple 73. Even though we were early for check in, they happily allowed us in. We went to our respective rooms and immediately went to sleep.
