May 14 cont...
We walked to a bus station but it wasn’t the right one so we stopped for something to eat. Makoto San ordered for us.
I suspected we would get sashimi and that’s what we got.
In the past I've eaten sashimi but today I found out I can’t eat it anymore. It’s just too fleshy.
We went across the street and caught a tram to the bus station. We had half an hour to wait and I felt like something sweet to eat so we went to a Mister Donut.
I ordered a maple chocolate swirl thing and was speechless when she just put it straight on the dingey tray – no plate or even serviette. I asked for a coffee and for some reason that warranted a plate for the chocolate swirl. Makoto San didn’t order anything so we left when I had finished.
It was Sunday so the bus timetable was different so waited a while longer. As it turns out, the bus we ended up catching was the same number as a few earlier ones.
I was discovering that traveling with Makoto San was more a case of intuition than accurate information. I found it amusing and even he eventually commented on his bad ‘Guido’ skills so everytime he decided on a direction, we would go the opposite way which usually ended up being the right way.
