Following An Expert - T48 to 51

May 14 cont...

At Temple 48 we started walking with a Terminal Henro.

Makoto San and Hioaki San

Some unemployed people chose to walk the trail, living off settai and sleeping outside or in free shelters. I thought it was admirable and Hioaki San seemed very happy and content. We found out it was Hioaki Sans 22nd time around in three years. He looked rough but he was such a lovely gentle person. I discretely gave him 5000 yen to show support and he honoured me by giving me one of his gold name slips.

Following Makoto San who is following Hioaki San

He led us to Temples 49, 50 then at Temple 51 we left him to catch a bus to Temple 52, hoping to get to the office before the end of the day.

A sign just before we got to Temple 51

These reminded me of a painting at my Mothers place called
The Sybils (I think of them as Alpha Females! - Temple 51
