Tactics to Diminish Torture - T86

May 20 cont...

It was a long winding narrow road back down into the valley which was ever more torturous for my agonized feet.

I was having to try tactics to take my mind of them. I dug my nails into my palm to transfer the pain then I started singing Amazing Grace. As I was singing, the super fit guy came running up behind me, stopped and gave me a tube of frozen coke and some lollies as settai, then continued running down the hill.
I continued hobbling and videoed myself singing Fiona Apples Extraordinary Machine, all the way to the bottom of the hill.

At the bottom there was an estuary with turtles lounging around sunning themselves but unfortunately they were too far away to get photos of.

As random as the Henro signs sometimes appear, they can be just as randomly absent.
Again, I had to wing it toward the next train station.
Thankfully I could hear the ding ding ding of train road barriers, so I knew I was getting close.
Finally I found a station and when I approached a teenage couple for help, they pointed to some obscure markings on my map that I hadn’t known what they meant.
I was at a secondary train station but luckily it ran the same way as the main route and I only had 5 minutes to wait. Again it was only 2 or 3 stations but it was such a blessed relief to rest my feet and have something to eat.

I got off and made my way to Temple 86.

It was quite picturesque and the Monks were quite chatty and very friendly – not like a lot of them who seemed more like meditating machines pumping my scroll through their production line.
